This workshop examines the critical intersection between implementation science and equity, delving into the challenges and opportunities for promoting equitable implementation of evidence-based interventions. This workshop also critically examines systematic factors that contribute to inequities in implementation, such as structural racism, socioeconomic disparities, and unequal access to resources. We explore how cultural competence, humility, and community engagement promote inclusivity. We explore data collection and analysis methods that capture and address equity considerations and frameworks, such as community-based participatory research (CBPR) that influence the success of interventions in diverse settings.
Learning objectives
- Conduct equity impact assessments and identify the reasons for different impacts of implementation science among diverse populations and communities
- Develop strategies such as community-based participatory research (CBPR) methods to reduce disparities
- Disaggregate data by relevant sociodemographic factors and gain a distinct understanding of the complexities of achieving equitable implementation
